Detn8: It’s not just Duck Hunt…it’s Ultimate Duck Hunt

Detn8 to publish Ultimate Duck Hunt - Image 1A couple of days ago, we reported that several gaming industry veterans have merged and created video game publisher Detn8 Games Ltd. The new company is being headed by Ellen Fuog and Jeff Hill. Fuog is mostly known for her work in Ignition Entertainment‘s U.S. operations.

Hill, on the other hand, previously started a company called Black Sheep, Inc. Gaming site Pro-G was able to talk to Jeff Hill recently and found out that while Detn8 has acquired an all-platform license status with Nintendo and Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), the new company’s “initial focus is on games for the Wii.”

As a matter of fact, its first release is going to be Ultimate Duck Hunt. A little trip back memory lane – the original Duck Hunt, despite its rather repetitive gameplay, is revered as one of the better titles for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) back in 1980’s. It uses the NES Zapper and was developed by Nintendo R&D 1.

More than 25 years have already passed but characters from Duck Hunt still find their way in some of today’s popular culture. Jeff Hill promised that more details about Ultimate Duck Hunt will be released in the coming weeks. The video game will be available in North America by June while Europe will get it in Q4 2007. Detn8 has yet to reveal the developer of the game.
