Diablo 3 hinted to be in the works

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Well, then, that should bring back a lot of memories to get excited over as Diablo fans can not only reminisce about previous games, but may now also look forward to a new installment for the series.

With the whole parade of rumors that surrounded this game earlier this year, there is now a whole new barrage of mixed messages which tell us that Diablo 3 may really be in the works. And from which horse’s mouth has this possibly joyous piece of news come from? None other than fantasy writer Richard A. Knaak who has written books that are based on the Diablo, D&D, Warcraft and Dragonlance worlds. At the moment, he is promoting his latest Diablo novel Diablo: The Sin War: Book One: Birthright.

In a recent interview with Blizzplanet.com, he gave out a loaded statement: “I ain’t writing for a dead game…I am not writing for a dead world…but a world with dead”.

Though fans are now given license to get giddy with excitement, one might want to reserve the parties and cartwheels for much later when a formal announcement is finally made. Also, since Blizzard can’t work on any new projects at the moment, what with the WoW Burning Crusade expansion still on their to-do list, there may still be a good bit of waiting to do. I guess we’ll see within the next few months, but then again, when there’s smoke, there’s fire, right?
