Reviewers rated the game 10, 9, 9, and 8, giving a grand total of 36/40, a point higher than what Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII got. They also revealed new details about the game in their reviews.

The game will take a solid 100 hours of gameplay to unlock everything. It takes 40 hours alone to complete the Story Mode. If you take your time with it, you’ll probably make it last a lifetime.

Speaking of the story, reviewers praise it for being more than just a gathering of Final Fantasy characters. They don’t elaborate much on that of course. We don’t want them to spoil it for the rest of us silly saps who have to wait for the English translation.

The positive things reviewers had to say about the game is that controls are easy, and customization options are rich. Battle actions were also given praise. One reviewer loved how pursuit battles requires you to attack and defend at the same time, while another compared them to scenes from Final Fantasy VII Advent Children.

Some reviewers had complaints though (awww). One of them said that it’s hard to keep track of everything that’s going on, and another says that there are too many special terms being used. Well, if you’re familiar with the various universes of Final Fantasy, I don’t think that’ll be a problem at all.
