Divorce Boosts Brain Training Sales

Chris Tarrant, well known for his role as presenter of the UK game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” has managed to boost sales of DS Lite consoles after an advertisement for Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training game which features the recently-divorced Tarrant forgetting his wife’s anniversary.

Nintendo UK have said that they have no plans to pull the £1 Million advertising campaign due to the giant boost in sales. A Nintendo spokeswoman said: “We have got no plans to change our Tarrant campaign,” she said. “Sales jumped dramatically last week and we are very pleased with how the campaign is performing.”

Funny advertisements usually help sell products, but this one takes the biscuit for being both original and fully up-to-date with current affairs. The advert shows quiz-show host Tarrant forgetting his wedding anniversary with him being kicked out of the marital bedroom by his wife. Using the power of the DS and Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training game he then builds up his memory power.
