Screenshot of Nintendo's Duck Hunt for NES - Image 1Gamers have many fond (and not so fond) memories of Nintendo’s classic NES shooter, Duck Hunt. Developer Knight0fDragon has slowly been rebuilding the old school shooter on the Nintendo Wii platform as a homebrew port with the same name.

The latest build, version 1.81, brings the homebrew project closer to the original title with the addition of better sounds, as well as a couple of bug fixes here and there. Here’s the complete list of changes included since our previous coverage of Duck Hunt:

v1.81

  • Intro sound
  • Fixed 4 shots per round
  • Fixed Various little bugs

Aside from fixing the sounds, the developer mentioned plans of releasing the source code for better controller handling by version 1.9. Knight0fDragon also requested everyone to send in any bug reports, so that everything should be as close as the original game by the time version 2.0 is released (everything except the clayshooting, that is).
