Duck Hunt Wii now out in homebrew

Duck Hunt Wii - Image 1We know the original is already available over Virtual Console, but if you haven’t netted yourself a copy to vent your frustrations on quacking flocks and a chuckling canine, Wii Brew coder Knight Of Dragon offers the homebrew option. Duck Hunt Wii is not hosted on a web portal for the Nintendo Wii, but it’s every bit as fun as the original on the Nintendo Entertainment System or the Famicom. More at the full story.

Homebrew developer Knight Of Dragon stealthily added a new addition to the Nintendo Wii homebrew games collection over at Wii Brew: Duck Hunt Wii. The author says that the game is a clone of the Nintendo Entertainment System (Famicom) version, and it has been reworked to utilize the Wii remote for aiming controls.

Duck Hunt Wii doesn’t come with any documentation, but usage and installation is pretty straightforward. Point and shoot for selecting options and downing elusive ducks. You can even use the Wii Zapper for a better shooting experience.

For installation, most updated homebrew loaders can load the small DOL file this homebrew game contains, or if you already set up the Homebrew Channel, you could file it under the apps directory there. Just make sure to complete the other requirements for aesthetics: thumbnail and the Meta.XML description file.
