E3 2007: Patapon gameplay video

Aside from the usual brew of trailers for long-awaited titles (like Silent Hill: Origins), E3 2007 is providing a venue for some rather unheard of, but downright interesting titles. We’re talking a new video we’ve just got word of for Patapon, a game which bears a strange resemblance to Loco Roco.

The game appears to be a 2D platformer, and will have players controlling several one-eyed tribesmen as they encounter one strange monster after another.

Imagine a mishmash of Loco Roco, Odin Sphere, 300, and a bit of DJ Max‘s button-pressing rhythm and you’ll get the idea. Details are still very sketchy at this moment, but if our previous news from SCEE holds, expect Patapon to land on the PSPs in Europe come this October 9.
