E3: Assassin’s Creed on stage demo with Jade Raymond
Assassin’s Creed (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC) is no doubt one of the biggest stars to grace E3. This massive new title being developed by Ubisoft Montreal is definitely one of the most anticipated – having gorgeous graphics, an immersive setting delivered with superb art direction, and innovative gameplay that combines stealth, action, and platforming.
Finally after much wait, Jade Raymond got up the stage at E3 to demonstrate Assassin’s Creed and take everyone through what the game has to offer. Altair, the bird of prey, is found standing atop a beam placed on a high tower that overlooks the entire city. Jerusalem is simply breathtaking, faithfully recreated based on historic documents.
On the ground are a good number of NPCs walking around, creating an atmosphere of a living and breathing city. Altair moves on to continue his mission, which is to take down a slave trader. Jade stressed out that everything your eyes can reach – every wall, building, and rooftop – is climbable. Our hired killer made his way to the target’s hideout after plenty of platforming similar to Prince of Persia.
The rest after the jump!

Soon, goons equipped with swords and one-liners surrounded the player. Combat couldn’t be more satisfying; movements are very realistic, and Altair have enough ways of dispatching enemies to keep you entertained. After that, hunter and prey run around the populated city with citizens that react accordingly.
One moment you’re chasing, trying to escape the next – that’s what an assassin’s life is like, and Altair goes through the same routine. Let’s not spoil more of the action, and just show you the videos below. Enjoy!
