*Update* The Pitt pulled out, Bethesda working on fix.

The Pitts - Image 1So the Fallout 3 DLC for the Xbox 360 and PC just went live a couple moments ago, and within a few hours, online forums have raked multiple threads reporting problems with The Pitt.

Countless users have been reporting freezing problems and floating exclamation marks (!) in the Downtown area after the bridge… among other issues.

Some people have said that this may be an isolated issue for early downloaders (some have reported seeing download sizes which vary, from 300MB to 600MB, which suggests something must have messed up in the uploading process).

Others have suggested installing the game on the HDD, but that doesn’t seem to be an absolute solution since the problems still surface. Other suggestions like re-downloading the DLC haven’t worked out yet either.

Well now, there’s still no response from Microsoft or Bethesda Softworks. From what it seems, not a single person has reported their DLC working 100% fine. Currently, as so many people in the forums say, the only sensible suggestion right now is to avoid the download until further notice from MS or Bethesda.

*Update* We finally have some response from the guys at Microsoft and Bethesda. First off, as Major Nelson points out, the DLC has been pulled out from Xbox Live at the moment. But more so, we now get confirmation (via Eurogamer) that Bethesda is looking into the issue.

We are continuing to look into the issues people are experiencing with The Pitt for Xbox 360. As of now it looks like the file for the English version on Xbox Live was somehow corrupted. We are currently working with Microsoft to remove the existing file off of Live to prevent any further downloads. Our plan is to replace it with a new file as soon as possible. We hope to have another update for you shortly.
