Eternal Sonata created to introduce Chopin’s music to gamers

Eternal Sonata - Image 1People may find Eternal Sonata‘s premise a bit odd: Music composer Chopin lies on his deathbed, and enters a dream where he gets into an adventure that grants him magical powers just as he’s about to die.

There’s an explanation why Tri-Crescendo managed to come up with such an interesting premise (aside from having creative minds). It turns out that Tri-Crescendo’s president Hiroya Hatsushiba is a big fan of the composer Frederic Chopin, and wants to introduce the composer’s music to gamers.

But why release the game on Xbox 360? Tri-Crescendo specifically chose the Xbox 360 platform, which they deemed as the perfect console for the game’s battle system and graphics. Eternal Sonata also takes advantage of the face buttons of the Xbox 360 controller. For the meantime, there’s no indication whether the game will go multiplatform: when asked about a PlayStation 3 version, Namco Bandai only answered that they are not aware of a PlayStation 3 version at the moment.

We certainly hope the Eternal Sonata will take off successfully once the game is out, to pave the way for more Namco Bandai RPGs on Microsoft‘s console.
