Europe is now 600,000 PlayStation 3 units strong

PS3 in Europ, now 600,000 units strong! - Image 1The first two days of the PlayStation 3 console’s introduction into UK has raked in a staggering number of 165,000 units sold. While that as much can say a lot of things with regards to Sony “[retaking] its title as the console market leader,” the BBC now reports that, macroscopically, the whole of Europe has a total of *ka-ching!* a whopping 600,000 PS3 units sold.

In light of these figures, Sony Computer Entertainment managing director Ray Maguire is confident that they reflect the market’s “vote of confidence in the [PS3].” With that, he says:

Having broken the record for launch sales, we are now replenishing retail stock across the country.

Allocations of restock for the next couple of week across Europe weren’t specified, but if they intend to follow through with their promise (and surely, Maguire isn’t one who will let down), then expect even more numbers to add to the already-rising sales figures.
