Europe VC hits 100th game with F-Zero X’s release

Europe VC hits 100th game with the release of F-Zero X - Image 1It wasn’t so long ago when Nintendo’s Virtual Console service in the U.S. hit the 100 games mark with their offering of Zelda II – The Adventures of Link. Europe VC has apparently also hit the big 100 with their release of F-Zero X.

This game, which was originally released on the N64, is one of the fastest racers I have personally seen and may actually be the best futuristic racing game that never received much acclaim. It offers 30 different hover machines and 20 tracks, a worthy addition to any futuristic racing fans gaming collection. F-Zero X costs 1000 Wii points, a bit pricey but well worth it if you ask me.

Speaking of European VC releases, F-Zero X is joined by J.J. & Jeff in this week’s releases. J.J.& Jeff is a side-scroller originally released on the TurboGrafx 16. It spans six level, during which the two heroes solve a kidnapping case. This classic is downloadable for 600 Wii points.

It looks like the Nintendo is not slowing down and it won’t be long before they go beyond 500 or even 1000 old-school games released if they keep up this pace. Nintendo still has a lot of games to port over since the VC emulates games from Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64, SEGA Genesis, and the TurboGrafx 16 so it doesn’t look like they’ll be running out of material. Be sure to keep checking back here for the latest updates on the VC on the Wii.
