Everquest II: Tuning in to New Tunaria

EQ2 logoOver at the Station site, they were able to have a little chitty chat with the people behind the recent changes in Everquest II. And in the interview, they focused on the New Tunaria and what EQ2 users can expect from the new realm, down to the architectural details.

Zliten says that the city of Felwithe was grandiosely rebuilt, prodding the high elves to repopulate their race and protect their pure and precious bloodlines. Now, to do this successfully, they also closed off the gates to their city, even though the rest of Faydwer were doing their own rebuilding just outside those walls. And since they’ve shut themselves out from the rest of society, they thought it only proper to rename their land as well.

So when the queen and the council decided to repopulate and purify their bloodlines, they also decided on creating a new race of elf that’s more pure and more close to the image of their goddess, with the hopes that they’ll draw her back and regain her favor. Hence, the birth of Renda’Dal, or better known as the New Tunarians.

As for the city’s architecture, Alfonso Villar, the artist who worked on New Tunaria said that the idea was to create a city that blended nature and civilization together. The challenging part was making the buildings and waterfalls work well together, all the while keeping in mind the aim of making a grandiose environment. Well, we don’t know about you guys but we say that’s definitely something to look forward to. It’s only in Everquest II that they’re able to mesh nature and advancement together without civil groups protesting their asses off, right?
