PSP homebrew developer Quake just came up with a new build for his nifty application known as Extreme Link. If this is the first time you’ve heard about this PSP app, then you have a lot of catching up to do.

For starters, it’s basically a Windows-based application that takes care of homebrew files and media stored in your memory stick. The new build brings the application up to version 1.5.4 and there are a lot of important changes implemented to it aside from the usual makeover. Here’s the changelog:

  • Extreme Link:
    • Optimized: Execute on USB/NET
    • Added: USBHostfs Systray Icon
    • Added: NETHostfs Systray Icon
  • Extreme Link: Ciso
    • Added: Delete DesFile if Cancel pressed
    • Fixed: Results not showing on first Compress/De-Compress – Hopefully
    • Fixed: Delete File – Auto Delete of source file
    • Removed: Drag & Drop from Ciso, Ciso GUI
  • Extreme Link: Options
    • Added: USBHostfs Systray Icon – Changer
    • Added: NETHostfs Systray Icon – Changer
    • Added: Options for the USBHostfs -v -vv -b -g -p -d -h -k -f -c -m -t -n
  • USBHostfs Options:
    • -v : Set verbose mode
    • -vv : More verbose
    • -b port : Specify the base async port (default 10000)
    • -g : Specify global bind for the sockets, as opposed to just localhost
    • -p pid : Specify the product ID of the PSP device
    • -d : Print GDB transfers
    • -f filename : Load the host drive mappings from a file
    • -c : Enable case-insensitive filenames
    • -m : Convert backslashes to forward slashes
    • -t timeout : Specify the USB timeout (default 1000)
    • -n : Daemon mode, the shell is accessed through pcterm
    • -k : Disable keyboard redirection
    • -h : Print this help
  • Extreme Link: Explore
    • Added: More Extensions to the Media player open – Default(mp4,avc) Added(avi,mpeg,mpg,mkv,wmv,rm,asf,m1v)

Quake added a well-written Readme file within the Extreme Link v1.5.4 download below, it contains important information on installation guides and other reminders. So don’t forget to read that first before installing this program.
