Yosuke Hayashi of Team NINJA (Tecmo) dropped by the PlayStation Blog to share some new information about Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. For this post, he delved into the female playable characters: Rachel, Ayane, and Momiji. He even brought along a cool gameplay video, as well as a challenge to add to the fun while you wait.

First, the overview of the babes:

  • Rachel: Strong and powerful. Signature weapon – War Hammer. New weapon – Machine Gun!
  • Ayane: Young, purple-haired female ninja from the Dead or Alive series. Quick. Weapons – Dual short swords and a dagger with a pinwheel carrying her signature iris.
  • Momiji: Heroine from Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword, who trained under Ryu. How much sexier can a female ninja get? Weapons – Naginata long sword and bow.

He says that each character has her own unique set of weapons, moves and ninpos (yes, you read that right. Ninpos).

Here, check out this cool gameplay video of Momiji:

And as for the challenge, there are four artworks designed by their artists, one of Ryu, and that of the three playable female characters. Now what you have to do is to (of course download them first from the PS Blog) and then spot the differences of the three female leads’ images to that of Ryu. Tip: there should be three “things” different from Ryu’s artwork. Gender doesn’t count, obviously.

There’s no price involved in this, but hey, if you’re into those spot-the-difference kinda games, this should prove quite a challenge for you. After all, he said, “Since Ninja Gaiden is known to have a high difficulty level, this challenge is no different.” In fact, some of these differences ma be unnoticeable to the naked eye.

Bring out your magnifiers or something.
