Eyes on the price – Sainsbury selling Modern Warfare 2 for only GBP 26?

Yes, seriously - Image 1While GameStop and Activision are busy with the whole broken street date issue in the United States, Sainsbury’s apparently decided that breaking the street date just isn’t as fun as breaking the retail price point. Gamer Limit is now reporting that the UK retailer now has Modern Warfare 2 at an unbelievable price of £ 26, which is only about US$ 44.

Makes you wonder if they’re gonna make money at all out of this. Activision announced that the game’s RRP was set at £ 54.99 (about US$ 92) in the UK, and Sainsbury’s is selling it at less than half that amount. No word, however, on whether the price is for the PC version or for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Any readers out there in the area who could confirm? What a steal that price would be.
