Factory-sealed Stadium Events surfaces on eBay

seA mom in North Carolina suddenly found herself US$ 13,105 richer when the old NES and games set she sold on eBay happened to include an NTSC version of Stadium Events, the rarest game ever sold on the system. Collectors and followers of the rare game biz believed that only about 20 copies of the game remained in existence, and only one that’s factory-sealed. Believe it or not, that one is now on eBay.

According to the seller, she bought her copy from “Richmond Gordmans in Overland Park, Kansas over two decades ago”. She couldn’t play it at the time without the Family Fun Fitness mat, which happened to be recalled when rights were purchased by Nintendo. Thinking she could return it at some point, she didn’t open the package, and there lies the value for the collectors.

Having heard of the North Carolina mom’s story, she put up her copy on eBay. If legit, then her copy is a hell lot more than the last copy auctioned. As of writing, the factory-sealed NTSC Stadium Events has now scored 51 bids, with the highest currently at US$ 17,100.
