Fall of Man, rise of man: there’s a “gravity glitch”

Gravity: 1) seriousness or importance; dire consequence. 2) solemnity or dignity of manner. 3) natural force of attraction exerted by a celestial body drawing objects toward its center. 4) a peculiar glitch encountered in the physics engine of Resistance: Fall of Man.

We’re not sure if Webster would accept the fourth definition, but it still holds true. mik3yl3 sent us a link to his footage of a strange phenomenon in RFoM‘s co-op mode. Unless he was able to get a hold of Insomniac Games‘ version of Samus‘ Hi-Jump boots, there’s no way that this was faked. There’s no other explanation for it: it’s a glitch.

Even though he comments that the bluetoothed controller was “freaking out on player 2” a few minutes prior to this jumping spree, we highly doubt that it’s a hardware glitch. Because even if it were, the physics engine of the game wouldn’t have allowed that to happen. And so, we’re only led to believe that the root of this glitch is the engine itself or some warped piece of code. But glitch or not, it still looks fun being able to break free from the shackles of gravity.
