Farewell Team Halogen
Before releasing Halo 3 on the first quarter of 2007, Microsoft had to do a “tiny, miniscule something” first. That something is, unfortunately for fans and followers, to shut down the Halogen Team at Slipstream Productions. They lasted for three years.
Halogen, even before, somehow knew there would be problems the moment you start using copyrighted intellectual property as a base for a fan project. But they concluded what they’re doing is just a different take on the game. The multinational corporation thinks otherwise as it asks to stop development. They are firm on their stance that this is a clear infringement of the intellectual property of Bungie studios, the game’s developer.
To avoid further problems and a possible multi-million lawsuit, the team decided to step aside. We quote: “So..that’s it then, I guess. The forums, site, and Moddb profile will all be shut down within the week. I can’t say it hasn’t been fun. It’s a shame it has to end like this, but I suppose that’s how it goes.”
In the end, they wish to thank all fans for the support and the good times. The Halogen Team is best known for bringing the most important, if not the best mods for the Halo series.
