Last month, many of the readers here may recall Askot‘s release of a Wii-compatible build for the FCE Ultra, originally meant for the GameCube. Good news aside, however, the emulator required the players to use the GC controller.
Not exactly a big problem, but some players probably would have opted for fully retro experience by using the Wiimote’s classic controller accessory. If you’re among these players, we’ve got a bit of good news.
Developer NullEX has recently released an unofficial build for the Wii’s FCE Ultra emulator which now carries full support for the console’s Wiimote. This build will support the Wiimote (held horizontally), the classic controller attachment, and the GameCube controller.
We do warn readers to be careful with this release: Other users note that they’re experiencing errors when attempting to run this emulator on their Wii. Be sure to study the file bundle’s readme, and the author’s site (via the source link) before running this app. You may also want to have a translation app handy – the site’s in Spanish.
