Final Fantasy Versus XIII also present at Jump Festa

ffv13-thumbKingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep wasn’t the only game Square Enix showed off at this year’s Jump Festa. They also brought along Final Fantasy Versus XIII. All the Final Fantasy XIII hoopla may have put it out of your mind, but it’s coming and, as reports have it, it’s looking pretty damn good.

Kudos to Casey for the tip!

The trailer Square Enix presented doesn’t seem to have made its way onto the web yet, so here’s a text-only description from gaming blog Andriasang instead:

The footage began with the words “real or fantasy” set against a black background. The “fantasy” lingers for a few seconds as the scene switches to a bright daytime scene of main character Noctis standing on the side of what looks like a highway, leaning against a gate. As a vehicle approaches from the distance, the Versus logo and various bits of latin text flash on the screen. The vehicle stops, and as Noctis gets in, we see brief flashes to past trailers, including an image of heroine Stella in her formal attire. Noctis crosses his legs (this is important — see below), and the car speeds off into the distance.
The trailer leaves with the phrases “Work in progress” and “Revelation will come next time.”

Andriasang also notes that all of the footage in the trailer was real-time, as evidenced by the subtle roughness of the graphics compared to full-on CG.

The PS3-exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII still has no release date announced. Hope that changes next year.
