Cloud Strife figurine to be featured at New York Comic Con 2008 - Image 1Taking a look at the image above, the Cloud depicted there has definitely improved by leaps and bounds compared to his three-dimensional if somewhat blocky incarnation on the PSOne when the original Final Fantasy VII first came out in 1997.

Square Enix will be showcasing a miniature action figure of Cloud and his patented Hardy Daytona motorcycle at the upcoming New York Comic Convention this weekend, along with several other Final Fantasy characters in the title. Developed by Play Arts, the Cloud action figure will feature up to 20 points of articulation, as well as his trademark Buster Sword.

Those of you interested in scoring on this neat collectible will have to wait until May before you can purchase it for a premium of US$ 79.99. Although, you can also get the chance to obtain Cloud and his Hardy Daytona earlier by visiting the Square Enix booth at the Jacob Javits Center in New York from April 18 to 20.

It was also mentioned that other characters from the memorable Final Fantasy iteration will be receiving their own figurine models. Sephiroth, Vincent Valentine, Yuffie, Red XIII, and Cait Sith will join the Play Arts series this summer. Who knows, perhaps we’ll even see versions from the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII series as well.

In any case, we’ll be keeping an eye for more updates regarding these neat collectibles, so make sure to drop by QJ.NET again from time to time.
