Sega has released some new information about Iron Man 2, the new Iron Man game being developed as a tie-in for the next Iron Man movie. It’s a tie-in, but it won’t follow the movie too closely. Instead, writer Matt Fraction will be taking a middle ground approach by drawing from both the movie and comic book universes, both of which he has been involved with.

This brand-new tale promises to take gamers deeper into the Iron Man comic world. Iron Man 2Â’s original plotline will see Tony Stark gifting the world with new technology in order to make it a better place. However, as is bound to happen in these stories, the tech is used by the bad guys to further their nefarious deeds so Stark has to kick their asses, Iron Man style.

The game will feature enemies not found in the film such as the Crimson Dynamo. Iron Man will also get some new hand to hand combat skills in addition to the suit’s arsenal. The game’s control scheme has also been redesigned following fan feedback, so it should be easier for gamers to just wreak havoc on the more destructible environments.

Sega is tracking a Spring 2010 release for Iron Man 2. The game is being developed for PS3, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii and DS.
