Flagship Studios on Hellgate: London factions and classes

A male Templar from Hellgate London - Image 1Flagship Studios, developer of Hellgate: London, recently explained the nature of the game’s different factions and classes, as well as the process that went into their creation for Hellgate: London. While Flagship Studios admitted that creating the various factions and classes was a lot of fun, they also acknowledged that a lot of important changes had to be made in the course of Hellgate: London‘s development.

Flagship Studios noted two important changes in particular. One, they divided up the various weapons between the Templar, Cabalist, and Hunter factions. Two, the developers finally settled on a skill system reminiscent of Diablo II, wherein each skill had its own maximum level and character level requirement. Both changes required players to prioritize and commit to a particular skill branch within the same faction.

In spite of all the changes they’ve made to the game so far, it seems that Flagship Studios isn’t one developer content to rest on its laurels. They have more ideas planned for the classes in Hellgate: London in the near future, so stay tuned for further updates regarding this apocalyptic MMORPG.
