Forever Blue for the Wii: Connected to 2 PS2 games?

ps2 versionA couple of months ago, we shared with you Nintendo’s 2007 game lineup for the Wii. To be quite frank, it’s a pretty solid roster with several Mario titles expected to lead the campaign. On the other hand, there are also some titles there that looked alien to us all like Forever Blue for example.

The game could be actually connected with PS2 titles EverBlue and EverBlue 2 which in turn, involve scuba divers swimming deep underneath the sea and interacting with a variety of fish. You are all probably not familiar with the two titles as they were only released in Japan. At any rate, here’s the premise of the previous versions:

Explore the Magic of Deep-Sea Diving. Follow heroes Leo and Zucco as they explore the truth behind tales of the Caribbean Bermuda Triangle and Coral Reef in this expansive underwater role-playing adventure.

Uncover the sea’s mysteries, as you freely explore sunken treasure ships, play with dolphins and other underwater sea life, wander the great Coral Sea and avoid shark attacks.

The Wii version of the game is being developed by Japan-based developer Arika Co., the same people behind EverBlue and EverBlue 2, so it isn’t suprising that this Wii title could be connected to the mentioned PS2 games. However, it is not clear up to this point if the game is going to be a port or a sequel.
