Forums: Shaman questions – and answers

World of Warcraft Shaman - Image 1 It’s always good to pose intelligent questions – since that’s probably the best way to get a good answer. It is also important that the answer will not always be what you want to hear. Good thing World of Warcraft forums poster Tressed knows this and asked some pertinent questions regarding the Shaman class.

Blizzard poster Tseric was good enough to answer the questions as best as he can. Here’s a rundown:

Shaman’s role for PvP and PvE, or the World of Warcraft in general?

Healing/DPS. The three shaman talent trees naturally have different functions. Enhancement can do massive damage in PvE but it works poorly PvP-wise. Elemental and Restoration however can “transit between PvP and PvE with more ease than an Enhance Shaman”. Tseric expressed that “roles are always general” and not to bother so much with the notion of roles.

Replacement/improvement of the 41 point Elemental talent and elemental totems?

Tseric said that there are currently no plans for this but said that improvement might be more realistic than replacement.

The last two questions are probably what shamans want to know the most so we’ll keep them verbatim.

Plans for more active skills?

It’s not out of the question, but in all likelyhood I don’t think you’re going to be seeing new abilities. It is possible that a talent or an ability could be changed to the point it might as well be a different spell, but at this point, I think attention will be given to the refinement of what exists, rather than throwing new things into the mix.

What can shamans expect?

As of late, the devs have been active on their Shaman more, to gain additional insight into the state of the class. So, I can say that they are looking into the class specifically, but as to specific adjustments they are considering, I can not say.
