Fushigi no Dungeon boxart and screenshots

boxartSega Corp. has announced the Japanese release date, as well as the official boxart, for the RPG Fushigi no Dungeon: Furai no Shiren (rough translation: “Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer”).

Fushigi no Dungeon will basically require you to explore dungeons where you get to fight off around 200 types of monsters. What makes this game exciting is that the actions are turn-based, and not just in fighting, which means that every time you take a step, the monsters that you’re supposed to be beating the crap out of will also take a step.

With the addition of new monsters, game environments, instruments, and weapons, Fushigi no Dungeon continues the widely popular game series on Nintendo’s handheld, and this is one title that Japanese DS owners can surely look forward to. The game will also make use of the DS’ Wi-Fi connection although we’re not sure exactly how this will play out.

An American release still seems unlikely, but we’ll definitely keep you guys posted if we find out more about the game. Fushigi no Dungeon: Furai no Shiren is slated for release December 14th, and will sell for 5,040 Yen.
