Gamestop has updated their website with a release date and pre-release package for Mythic Entertainment‘s Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

According to the announcement, the game will be shipping by September 16, 2008. In addition, the people who pre-ordered it will be receiving open beta access, a three day head start on the rest of the community as well as some bonus in-game gear (RittenbachÂ’s Portable Camp and the SentinelÂ’s Amber Band).

While normally we would write-off the date as a placeholder, the announcement of Gamestop’s pre-order promo made us make a double take on this. Why? Because a retailer would not be offering a pre-order promo unless the game was almost ready for launch.
