An auto update for Epic GamesGears of War for the Microsoft‘s Xbox 360 will be available soon according to Xbox Live’s Major Nelson. One commenter quoted a PR that says the AU will be out this “April 9 at 4:00 p.m. PDT”.

We’ve already discussed the new gameplay mode Annex and the addition of 720p for VGA users running at 1280×1024. They have updated Assassination Multiplayer so that the leader no longer has to unlock weapons; in addition to this, the leader now has to be executed to die. Roadie Run has been tweaked to reduce the frequency of accidentally grabbing cover while running.

For weapons, the Boomshot is now more effective at knocking down opponents with the improved splash damage while the Hammer of Dawn will be easier to aim (thank god!) at moving targets. The Kill Message Ticker can now be viewed while “down-but-not-out” and spectating. Finally, Epic has addressed some of the possible exploits in multiplayer.

As Major Nelson said, this is a rolling release. So it will take a few hours for everyone to get the prompt once it gets released. Well, we’ve waited a few days, what’s a few more hours, right?
