One thing we’ve learned through years of playing shooters is getting acquainted with the hardware. Today, we’ve got information and screenshots on weapons that we’ll be dealing pain with in the upcoming video game from Free Radical, Haze for the Sony PlayStation 3.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know that in Haze‘s world, two factions are at war: the Mantel Corporation and rebel group The Promise Hand. Of course, each side has its own brand of weaponry. Mantel, being a big corporation and all, can manufacture all the weapons it needs while the rebels have a few aces up their sleeves as well.

Here’s a quick list:

Mantel

  • “Diplomat” Wilson D6 Pistol – good close quarters side-arm that really packs a punch
  • “BlackSaw” BSW-72 Assault Rifle – standard issue rifle that fires depleted uranium rounds, if you don’t kill them by blowing them to kingdom come, you’ll give them radiation poisoning too.
  • “Donkey Puncher” DP-118 Combat Shotgun – you don’t want to be at the business end of this one as it can one shot at close range

  • “BlackSaw” (Suppressed) BSW-72(S) Assault Rifle – way to bring silent death to your opponents
  • “Donkey Puncher” DP-118 Combat Shotgun – you don’t want to be at the business end of this one as it can one shot at close range
  • “Hard Candy” HK-387L Rocket Launcher – the name says it all, this piece of hardware will help you obliterate your enemies, literally
  • “Pinpointer” BSW-72 ESR Enhanced Sniper – armor piercing and deadly accurate. ‘Nuff said.
  • “Spring Cleaner” SK3 Fragmentation Grenades – given its dead man’s switch design (read: fail safe), it’s bound to bring massive hurt
  • JM90 “Heavy Gun” – its a fixed gun mainly used for defense, fortify might not be enough of a word

The Promise Hand

  • Razor Tongue – classic hunting knife, useful for both throwing and slashing. It can also be used to force an overdose in Mantel soldiers by smearing it with Nectar
  • Lobo (Wolf) – standard issue for rebels with double ended magazines for easy reload
  • Oso (Bear) – it already packs a mean punch as a shotgun, but you can also take advantage of its extra cartridges
  • Mano del Dios (Hand of God) – this gatling gun can live up to its name in the hands of a capable rebel
  • Dragón de la Gente (The People’s Dragon) – this flamethrower can spit out fiery death over relatively long distances
  • Aguila (Eagle) – this sniper rifle packs fewer ammo than its Mantel counterpart but it makes up for that shortcoming with massive power
  • MalaFruta (BadFruit) – a dangerous cocktail of high explosives and steel chippings for shrapnel, this grenade won’t holding anything back
  • Nectar Grenades – this dangerous cocktail of a regular grenade coupled with a Nectar Administrator is bound to have Nectar soldiers overdosing

Well, it will be a while before we get our hands on these babies as Haze will be coming to the shelves in November but we’re sure they are worth the wait. Check out the screenshots below while we check for more Haze goodies.
