Get in the Game – Sony offers GBP 10,000 for PSN prototypes
As part of the launch for their Get in the Game project, Sony is offering £10,000 to five developers who can provide new prototypes of content for the PlayStation Network. Now that’ll get the game juices stirring. Read more about the project and the offer in the full article.
Developers can look forward to doing their thing and making some cash when Sony launches their Get in the Game project tonight. Five developers will get £10,000 (that’s about US$ 15,000) each to prototype new content for the PlayStation Network.
Sony’s gonna hold a free workshop in December to familiarize developers with the format holders, as well as to give them ideas as to what will be expected of them. Attendees are also invited to pitch ideas with a panel of Sony execs and producers. This panel will be the one to select recipients of the hefty sum, and the recipients will be given the first three months of 2009 to prototype their ideas.
Output will be presented to Sony Europe, and could even go into full production. Sony, together with Northwest Vision and Media, designed this competition to support the games industry in the Northwest region.
Well if European devs have had trouble making games, then here’s their chance. They may not have tax breaks, but they can get their hands on some dough to make some new games. While they’re at it, could they Get in the Game with us and add more PS One titles on PSN?
