The latest iteration of the critically acclaimed Ghost Recon series was originally planned to be released before the Christmas season, but due to the stiff competition from other FPS, Ubisoft has announced that it will push back the release of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier to the first quarter of 2011. Speaking at the company’s investor call yesterday, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said:

“Due to a very competitive environment we’ve decided to move the game out of the Christmas quarter into the march quarter. It will also provide more time to our development teams to realise their ambition. We will be pleased to showcase the game for the first time at E3.”
