Godzilla Unleashed Developers Blog: Monster Memories, Q and A - Image 1 

The latest Godzilla Unleashed developers blog discussed the experiences of the members of Pipeworks Software with the Godzilla franchise. A few questions related with the video game issued by fans were also answered.

All members of the crew had their own Godzilla memories to share, with some even claiming the green lizard had a major impact in their lives. For example, Creative Director Mark Crowe spoke about how he will never forget the thrill of seeing his first Godzilla movie and how it still influences everything he does today.

Game producer Shelby Stair Wills also took the opportunity to address followers of the Godzilla Unleashed community who inquired about the length of an in-game day, the cost of various abilities such as flying, and the possibility of using music from old Godzilla movies.

Wills said that an encounter (or a battle) is equal to an in-game day. Each encounter varies in length from one to 10 minutes depending on the type of encounter and what the player does. Unfortunately, the video game developer didn’t give any examples on what encounters we can expect to find so we’ll just have to wait till the game is released to find out.

Wills also mentioned that flying will not cost any energy for monsters (such as Mothra or Fire Rodan) since this is their only way to move around the map. Much to the disappointment of many old school Godzilla fans, Wills said that they won’t be using music from old Godzilla movies since it doesn’t fit with the edgy and darker tone they were going for in this game. He pointed out however that the new tracks should still be cool with every monster having its own theme song.

Godzilla Unleashed (PSP, Wii, Nintendo DS) will be released this November 13 in the U.S. and November 22 in Europe.
