Grand Theft Auto 4: PlayStation 3 version multiplayer mode down

More bad news for those who bought Grand Theft Auto 4 for the PlayStation 3. Aside from game freezes, it seems that the game can’t go online as well, effectively barring players from mutliplayer mode. Details in the full article.

Heads up, PlayStation 3 gamers! Sorry to be the bringer of bad news again, but it seems that Grand Theft Auto 4 is getting more hitches on the Sony platform.

Earlier we reported that some people are experiencing freezing errors with the PlayStation 3 version. Now, reports have come in that some players are also experiencing problems with connecting online.

Players who encounter this problem get this message from their in-game cellphone: “Cannot connect to game provider, please try again later.” We don’t know if the problem lies with the game or with the server.

At any rate, since the cellphone is the only way to access multiplayer, those who encounter this problem are effectively barred from the service. Still, don’t despair, the single-player mode is bound to be enough to keep you occupied while Rockstar looks into it.
