Guild Wars Nightfall PvP tips for Paragons and Dervishes

Paragon and DervishSo, you’re probably into a Nightfall PvP frenzy by now, checking out the new characters, the Paragon and the Dervish. Now, although experimenting with build is the next best thing to winning PvP battles, you might want to check out some “tried and tested” Paragon and Dervish tips that we got from the Guild Wars website.

No doubt, the spear-wielding, chanting, fully-armored Paragon is one intimidating foe. Not only can he launch spear attacks at you, he can also boost his allies and deal damage with his, ahem, vocal prowess.  As such, you may want to maximize on this characters’ shouts and chants, as they have a sort of area of effect damage, as opposed to spear damage, which can only affect just one target.

Speaking of spears, you may want to equip yourself with vampiric and elemental spears, and swap those during battle. After all, warriors tend to have less resistance to elemental damage, while rangers are more prone to physical damage.

The scythe-wielding, magic-casting and “god-attuned” Dervish are known to have health bonuses, as well as a high weapon mastery to boot. To maximize these potentials, you might want to bring Rune of Superior Scythe Mastery and apply it to your armor, as well as Vitae runes and a Superior Vigor.

Our source advises Dervishes to stick close to their opponent, “the most efficient target to attack is the one closest to you.” Then shower them with all those nasty little attacks you got prepared for ’em (insert wicked laugh). You may also want to consider taking ranger as your secondary profession, for more pressure.
