Guild Wars update notes for January 19

NCSoft has once again fixed a few bugs and made a few changes to their MMORPG Guild Wars. This is part of their continuing effort to make sure that Guild Wars runs smoothly so that players can concentrate on kicking the living bejeezus out of their enemies instead of ranting on various forums about how this or that bug is keeping them from lording it over everyone and their brother.

God. That last sentence was long winded. Anyway, here’s a short list of the permanent changes that have been made to Guild Wars as of Friday, January 19. For the full list of changes and fixes, click on the “read” link below.

  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to walk through some walls on the Isle of Weeping Stone guild battle map.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Heroes to deal extra damage with attacks.
  • If a player has the Lightbringer title track selected, that playerÂ’s Heroes now gain the benefits provided by this title.
  • Fixed a bug that made it difficult to repair the attackerÂ’s catapult on the WarriorÂ’s Isle guild battle map.
  • Adjusted the positions of several of the defenders in the Isle of Solitude guild battle map to more effectively defend the Guild Lord.
  • Screenshots are now saved as JPG files.
  • The “evade” mechanic has been removed from the game. All skills that used this mechanic have been changed to use “block” instead.

Remember, guys: just give the “read” link below to see the full list of updates. You should also be sure to check the Skill Balance Changes, especially if your character is an Assassin or an Elementalist, since those are the classes with the most changes. Also be sure to check out the changes for this weekendÂ’s Testing Event if you’re planning to participate.
