Guitar Hero III releases soundtrack CD with bonus in-game songs
With just a little over a month left for hard rock musical gamers to wait before Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PC, Mac, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii) finally hits the shelves, Activision isn’t finished with its grand scheme to market the popular rhythm sim series for all it’s worth. Guitar Hero III will also be releasing an Interscope CD featuring the soundtrack from the game as well as a special code which can unlock some new songs from musical giants Marilyn Manson, AFI and Flyleaf.
The CD includes in-game songs such as Sonic Youth’s Kool Thing, AFI’s Miss Murder, and Queens of the Stone Age’s 3’s & 7’s. The special CD will be released two days after the Guitar Hero III‘s street date on October 30.
Xbox Live users can use the code included with the disc to unlock the bonus playable songs Carcinogen Crush from AFI, Tina from Flyleaf and a remix of Manson’s Putting Holes in Happiness by the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner. AFI’s song will also be included in an EP of new material this December.
