Having fun at the festival with Ennichi no Tatsujin

In Japan, itÂ’s common for temples to hold festivals. They do this to either celebrate the New Year, a bountiful harvest, or the establishment of the temple. Sometimes, they hold a festival to commemorate the season or the local Shinto deity. In these festivals, there are usually lots of fanfare, ranging from games to catch small fishes in paper nets to throwing rings at the toy that you want. It is this joyous atmosphere that Ennichi no Tatsujin (Temple Festival Master), WiiÂ’s new mindlessly fun game, tries to emulate.

The game sports an array of different festival games. For this update, theyÂ’ve released four previews of the games that you will be able to play. The first one would be a fish-catching game. In festivals, you have to catch a small goldfish by using a paper dipper. The game relies on your quick reflexes as you wouldnÂ’t want your paper getting too wet. In here, you simply move the Wiimote to get the fish and press a button to scoop it.

The next game is a throwing game wherein you must throw a ring to get a prize. With the Wiimote, you must shake the Wiimote in order to get the distance, direction, and the strength that you need to throw the ring to the right toy. The third game is fishing for yoyo. With this game, you aim for the yoyo that you want to pick. And then, you have to hang your Wiimote down in order to fish for the yoyo that you want. It mimics the movement of the game as you try to raise the string of your Wiimote to try to fish the yoyo that you want.

The last game isnÂ’t actually a drumming game, but a balloon making game. Using your Wiimote and your nunchucks, at the cue of the tune, you have to twist your Wiimote and your nunchucks to the specified twist indicated in the circle. When the tune is over, you have a beautiful balloon.

Nintendo never fails to create the most brainless yet fun games ever. And here they are with another mindless game that will definitely keep you making some balloon art of your own. The game will be out on December 2. So, to spend the holidays right, take this Festival game with you and have some festival fun in your own home. Now if only the game also came with some festival snacks, then that would make the game the best ever!
