After all of the confusion surrounding Haze‘s release date, Free Radical and Ubisoft have finally deigned to give fans something a bit more concrete: a playable demo.

That’s right, Haze fans, a playable demo will be hitting the PlayStation Network in “early May”.  This, coming from a UK press release. Thus said, we cannot ascertain whether this also applies to other regions. The demo will let players run through the game’s single-player campaign mode as well as take a shot at the four-player drop-in drop-out online co-op mode.

The game itself looks like it’s still being targeted for a May 23 release, although it is a bit weird that the press release from Ubisoft still had the May 22 release date tacked onto it. Here’s to hoping that there’ll be no more surprise retractions about that release date.
