Inafune: Dead Rising, Lost Planet sequels coming
Kotaku reports that in the latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, Capcom exec Keiji Inafune has mentioned sequels for two of Capcom’s big games: Dead Rising and Lost Planet (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC). A Capcom UK rep, however, has asked everyone that Inafune’s statements might not be the final word.
Kotaku reports that in the latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, Capcom exec Keiji Inafune has mentioned sequels for two of Capcom’s big games: Dead Rising and Lost Planet (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC). Here’s what Inafune reportedly said:
We’re finally putting out new Dead Rising and Lost Planet games! As a main principle we’re thinking about multi-platform, and expanding upon both slightly from the Xbox 360 version.
Lost Planet has already gone the multiplatform route, but Dead Rising has yet to appear on the PS3. Yeah, there’s a Wii game, but that’s not exactly a sequel now, is it? Capcom’s decisions to put virtually all their new games on multiple consoles also lends a bit more weight to a PS3 entry in the Dead Rising franchise.
A Capcom UK rep, however, has told CVG that the Inafune quote could have been a mistranslation as Capcom hasn’t made any announcements regarding any sequels yet. Hey, it’s happened before.
