Additionally, Apple reports that users have downloaded a million apps and 250,000 eBooks to use with their shiny new tablet. The iPad’s launch was accompanied by more than 700 games, including Morita Shogi HD from Square Enix, Resident Evil 4 from Capcom, eight from Gameloft, and a whole bunch of other HD titles from various publishers.

“It feels great to have the iPad launched into the world – it’s going to be a game changer,” said Steve Jobs, Apple CEO. “iPad users, on average, downloaded more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad.”

For now, only the Wi-Fi model of the iPad is available, with the 3G model coming later this month.
