Apple finally pulled back the curtains on iPhone 3.0, and it looks like Digg‘s Kevin Rose was spot on and the iPhone is finally getting the copy and paste feature. The new firmware is coming with loads of other new features – too many to mention here, but here are some highlights taken from the press release:

  • Cut, copy and paste
  • MMS
  • landscape view for Mail, Text and Notes
  • stereo Bluetooth
  • syncing Notes to the Mac® and PC
  • shake to shuffle
  • parental controls for TV shows
  • movies and apps from the App Store
  • and automatic login at Wi-Fi hot spots

Devs are also going to be happy with 3.0 since the new SDK will have 1,000 new APIs, including in-app purchases, P2P connections, and access to the iPod music library. This also means homebrewers will have more stuff to play with! Even the iPod Touch 2G is going to benefit: 3.0 will finally unlock the capabilities of its Bluetooth chip.
