We stumbled upon new details regarding Irem‘s Sony PlayStation Portable exclusive game Bumpy Trot Vehicle Battle Tournament. This particular title has been long under development and is part of the Steambot Chronicles franchise.

Basically, this title is a fighting game set in the time when the junk-made bipedal mechs called Trot Vehicles are so popular and are part of the everyday life. This is what prompted the tournament that aims to search for the best mech.

The story revolves around a boy protagonist who comes to the city only to find a girl being bullied. After helping her, the boy learns about the tournament and decides to join. Here are the other features we managed to get about the game:

• Players earn money by doing works like transporting goods.
• Money can be used to customized Trot Vehicles and participate in the tournament.
• Customizations include look and feel, armors, and weapons that provides different attacking options.
• Battles will carry out in various settings like typical arena and in the forest.
• Tournament has five ranks, and players need to accumulate enough wins in order to enter the higher ranked stages.

Bumpy Trot Vehicle Battle Tournament was supposed to come out in Japan last February but has been pushed back to April. Irem has yet to announce if this title will have an international release.
