Is Nintendo trying to educate DS gamers?
You may have heard of Nintendo’s new DS game, Brain Age. It’s an educational game, and includes mini games such as Sudoku etc. Apparently it does something to your “prefrontal cortex”, according to a 1UP interview with Nintendo. And it seems like this educational game isn’t the last for the DS.
Nintendo are also launching a stand alone Sudoku game, which will contain over 400 Sudoku Puzzles. The game, titled Sudoku Gridmaster, will use Sudoku puzzles created by the original creators of Sudoku, and is to be released on the June 26th in the US. This begs the question, isn’t one Sudoku game enough for the DS?
Sudoku Gridmaster boasts more puzzles than Brain Age, and Brain Age isn’t completely dedicated to Sudoku, but will demand meet supply for 2 educational games? Why buy Sudoku Gridmaster, when you can get Brain Age, which offers much more variety? Maybe it’s a push from Nintendo to educate DS gamers, I’m not sure, but even if i was a Sudoku lover; surly Brain Age offers much better value for money.
