Lara Croft’s future is finally secure, and she’s going to be hanging out with a different crowd now. Eidos Interactive has reached an agreement with Square Enix, and the takeover of the Tomb Raider studio will occur in early May.

Lara Croft’s future is finally secure, and she’s going to be hanging out with a different crowd now. Eidos Interactive has reached an agreement with Square Enix, and the takeover of the Tomb Raider studio is expected to occur in early May, and shareholder approval is expected later this month.
This takeover follows a long and troubled history for Eidos Interactive, who’s been looking for a buyer since last year. Square Enix, who’s been looking for more Western talent in the last few months, may be the last studio I imagined Lara Croft to land in, but it’s certainly an interesting match.
