Jade Empire 2 confirmed, going cross-platform?

It’s been reported by Mercury News that the original Xbox game from BioWare, Jade Empire, will be getting a sequel. Confirmation came from a source who saw the code for the game that’s said to be in development, and there are also speculations that the game might end up in other consoles other than the Microsoft Xbox 360. It’s already been two years since BioWare‘s role-playing game Jade Empire for the original Xbox was released, and now we’ve heard that the game will be getting a sequel for the Microsoft Xbox 360. According to Mercury News’ source, s/he has already seen the code for the Jade Empire 2 game that’s currently in development. This is the only detail provided about the BioWare game though.

The previous Jade Empire games were released only for Microsoft’s console and Windows PCs, but rumors are circulating that since Electronic Arts has already acquired BioWare and Pandemic Studios, there’s a chance that Jade Empire 2 might be available not only for the Microsoft Xbox 360, given EA’s penchant for producing cross-platform games. This is just a rumor though, no comment from EA yet.
