Japan software sales for April 23-29: FF XII Revenant Wings on top

FF XII: Revenant Wings - Image 1 It was a not-so-good week for Sony-loving folks. You see, the software chart for April 23 to 29 show nothing but video games for Nintendo hardware in it.

Now, the Nintendo DS title saturation is a given, since we all know by now that everyone and his pet monkey have a DS in Japan, what’s noteworthy though in this week’s charts is the general improvement of the rankings of Nintendo Wii video games, and the slowdown of PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PS2 titles in the charts.

If one can recall, the PSP and the PS2 were doing relatively well in the previous weeks. It seems that everyone who bought Final Fantasy I 20th Anniversary Edition for the PSP and Persona 3 for the PS2 also bought Square Enix‘s Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings for the DS.

Here, check the chart yourself:

  1. Final Fantasy XII : Revenant Wings (NDS, Square Enix)
  2. Super Paper Mario (Wii, Nintendo)
  3. Momotarou Dentetsu DS (NDS, Hudson)
  4. Wii Sports (Wii, Nintendo)
  5. Cerebrale Academie (Wii, Nintendo)
  6. Gyakutensaiban 4 (NDS, Capcom)
  7. One Piece : Unlimited Adventure (Wii, Namco Bandai)
  8. Panel de Pon DS (NDS, Nintendo)
  9. Mario Vs. Donkey Kong 2 : March of the Minis (NDS, Nintendo)
  10. Wii Play (Wii, Nintendo)
