Japanese price and release date for Prinny: Is it Okay if I’m the Main Character?

Prinny - Image 1A lot of you were definitely excited when we reported on the new Disgaea game from Nippon Ichi for the PSP, Prinny: Is it Okay if I’m the Main Character?.And many more crossed their fingers for its overseas release. While we don’t have that information yet, what we do have are the release date and prices – for Japan, at least.

Prinnies marching - Image 1Just last week, we reported about a new Disgaea game from Nippon Ichi, starring them lovable Prinnies. Now we have some more information on it, complete with release dates and prices.

Okay, first the gameplay. We already know that it’s gonna be a 2D action game. But apart from that, you have a whopping 1,000-Prinny squadron at your disposal. Your objective? Help Etna of Disgaea 1 and 2 fame (who’s really pissed, so we hear) recover her stolen sweets.

The Prinnies are armed for the job: knives, jumping abilities, pick-and-throws, the work. However, it appears they don’t have the lifespan of cats (cos they’re penguins, duh!) and pretty much “die at the drop of a hat.”

Now for the exciting – and disappointing – bit. We have the release date for Prinny: Is it Okay if I’m the Main Character? (Prinny: Ore ga Shujinko de Iinsuka? in Japan) and it’s coming out just a couple of months from now. November 20th, to be precise. However – and here’s the disappointing bit – that date is just for Japan. It’s gonna cost Â¥ 5,229 or roughly about US$ 48. Japanese gamers will even get a special soundtrack CD if they preorder. Lucky them, huh?

Again, there’s still no news on whether or not they’ll be importing this game out of Japan, but we’re really, really hoping they do. Hopefully, NIS America will heed the calls of the fans and throw us a prinny bone our way.
