Kazunori Yamauchi on the focus of Gran Tursimo 5 - Image 1Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi was recently interviewed by Kikizo where he revealed details on highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5 for the PlayStation 3. He discussed their attempts to make the game more accessible to casual gamers and the developing crew’s current focus on the video game’s creation.

For players who found Gran Turismo 4 too difficult, Yamauchi gave word that they have implemented two levels of driving physics in the game: Standard and Professional. Standard mode is geared towards beginners while the Professional mode is tweaked for more experienced racing sim gamers.

Yamauchi also pointed out that Gran Turismo 5 did not follow Forza Motorsport 2 lead which offered multiple graphical sets to players. He said that they decided not to focus on graphics and customization this time, instead they paid more attention on the core values of a racing game. This move is best explained by Yamauchi’s comment: “you can buy a watch that is super multifunctional, but economical, or a watch that is reduced in functions, but premium – higher end.”

There is no definite release date for Gran Turismo 5yet but gamers can expect it to be out by next year.
