KickStart product features similar to Pandora’s Battery?

Buyers beware of KickStart: a product which allegedly allows direct homebrew loading - Image 1Word recently made its way to the QJ offices about an upcoming product called the KickStart from Solar Loyal Technologies. This item is said to allow users to launch homebrew, install custom firmware, or even downgrade a PSP’s firmware.

KickStart’s package is said to include a “special” battery as well as a memory stick. Rumor has it that the battery included in the product is an earlier leaked version of Pandora’s Battery, though this has yet to be confirmed.

For those who haven’t heard of Pandora’s Battery, it was a collective effort by the Noobz team and C+D which unbricks any PSPs (makes them functional again). The process can be done with a spare battery and the information you can find in this article.

KickStart will be hitting the marketplace soon for an ESRP of US$ 60. Please note, however, that everything this product can reportedly do (i.e. loading homebrews, installing custom firmware, as well as downgrading PSPs) can be done without opening your PSP for free if you’re a practicing member of the homebrew scene.
